VAr Compensation Based Stability Enhancement Of Wind Turbine Using STATCOM

Maintenance of power system stability becomes vital during disturbances like faults, contingency etc. This work deals with a novel priority oriented optimal reactive power compensation of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based wind turbine using Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM). A multi-objective problem will be formulated to maintain voltage within its tolerance levels using Voltage Severity Index (VSI) and to mitigate low frequency oscillations by using Transient Power Severity Index (TPSI) during post-fault conditions. An optimal solution to this proposed problem will be obtained using Fuzzy Logic. In order to justify the proposed methodology it is simulated and tested using 2 MW DFIG with MATLAB- Simulink.nbs

Low-Temperature Spin Dynamics of Doped Manganites: roles of Mn-t2g and eg and O-2p states

The low-temperature spin dynamics of doped manganites have been analyzed within a tight-binding model, the parameters of which are estimated by mapping the results of ab initio density functional calculations onto the model. This approach is found to provide a good description of the spin dynamics of the doped manganites, observed earlier within the ab initio calculations. Our analysis not only provides some insight into the roles of the eg and the t2g states but also indicates that the oxygen p states play an important role in the spin dynamics. This may cast doubt on the adaptability of the conventional model Hamiltonian approaches to the analysis of spin dynamics of doped manganites.Comment: 12 pages; Includes 5 figure

The security systems in airports are very important and the detection of entry of unauthorized person must be in high rate so as to have an improved efficient system. The real time systems in airports are implemented based on CCTV cameras. These CCTV cameras are used to record the events for future references. The high rapidity of correlation must be performed for the improvement of security in airports. Firstly, 4f system is introduced into the real time security system of the airport. The introduction of this optical system improves system performance and high speed of correlation. This optical system is designed in the simulation environment of MATLAB. The CCTV images and database images are compared together in MATLAB for various conditions. These conditions help to define the performance of the projected system and to have a better evaluation of the projected architecture. The projected system can outperform conventional correlator based systems with elevated speed of correlation. The projected system enabled by dynamic Fourier plane correlator system was found to have high speed performance

Expression of Emerging Novel Tumor markers in Oral Squamous cell carcinoma and their Clinical and Pathological correlation to determine the Prognosis and Usefulness as a Therapeutic target: A Systematic Review

Background: Inspite of 1000s of novel tumor markers in past 2 decades there is not even a single tumor marker which is proved to have diagnostic or prognostic value in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The purpose of this review is to examine the current status of the emerging novel tumor markers. Methods: This search strategy was in accordance with the Cochrane guidelines for systemic review. Articles were selected using Pubmed search. The article search included only those published in the English literature. Results: Total of 12 tumor markers were analyzed. None of the tumor markers analyzed has all the qualities for a tumor marker like good sensitivity, specificity for diagnosis or assessing the prognosis Conclusions: Thus far, studies, although inconclusive, have found that the likelihood of identifying a biomarker with such sensitivity and specificity may be slim, at least for the immediate future. Key words: oral squamous cell carcinoma, novel tumor marker

As per the International Health Regulations, it is a moral responsibility on national governments to keep international seaports/airports and peripheral areas up to 400 meters free of vector mosquitoes in its adult and immature stages and the mosquito vectors of other diseases of epidemiological significance. In view of seriousness of the problem, the present study was undertaken in and around Mormugao Port Trust (MPT), Goa (India), to see the prevalence of Aedes mosquito. This study was undertaken in the month of February and December 2016. Inside the port, no larval breeding was detected except in December survey, and 3.85 Breteau Index (BI) was recorded. In Headland Sada (residential colony), breeding was detected with 6.0 and 10.0 BI in February and December 2016 respectively. Similarly, in Jetty village high larval breeding was searched with 9.8 and 8.0 BI in February and December, respectively. In the residential colony, plastic containers used for storing water acted as the main source of larval breeding. These plastic containers were used to store water for long time and maintaining Aedes breeding in adverse condition throughout the year. According to breeding preference ratio (BPR), cement tank showed the highest (4.37) BPR in the month of February while in December BPR was highest for iron drum (27.7) followed by waterstoring plastic container (1.14). These residential colonies are in close vicinity of the seaport. Local factors play an important role in the propagation and prevalence of Aedes mosquito. Routine entomological surveillance is required to monitor the vector prevalence in the residential colonies around the seaport. Baseline surveillance data should be collected regularly to monitor vector prevalence and destroy the breeding sites in and around the seaport
